Durban Review
Small Height Gain
Sativa Dominant
Suitable for Sunny/Mediterranean Climate
This is a review on Durban which has been bred by the famous seed breeder Sensi Seeds. When you can afford it I can only recommend buying your seeds directly from them. Seed quality is guaranteed and their customer service is, in my experience, unrivalled. Durban is an old fashioned regular hemp strain which means it will produce both male and female plants. This is great if you want a very stable hemp strain that you can use as a motherplant to make clones or even, if you are feeling adventurous, breeding new strains yourself.
I really paid an modest price for an above average strain. Really, paying an average of € 5.5 per seed for Durban, I can´t find anyhting wrong with that. When we grew Durban for the review it produced a large yield. Of course, there are strains that boast an even larger potential yield, but the good thing about this strain is that it doesn´t need the extra care that all these very high yielding strains need to reach its full potential. Durban yields more than enough to satisfy all but the most demanding grower. This strain is very suitable for the colder climates with a short summer that some of my mates up north have to deal with. I grew Durban in a warm climate, but a good friend of mine grew it in a colder climate last year and it worked out great. If you are at a latitude above 50N this is definitely a strain for you. Durban can, of course, also be grown indoor with grow lamps if you want to.
Be very careful with Durban if you have limited vertical space, this strain will grow a lot after it goes into the flowering phase. If you have the space don´t worry about it, it is well worth it. has a very long flowering time, when I grew it just seemed to last forever. Granted, when you are waiting for something you really want everything seems to last longer, but this strain really tested my patience. In the end, the quality of the smoke made it all worth it.Characterized by slender-bladed leaves and a more open bud structure, Durban clearly has more dominant sativa genes. Personally I´m not a big fan of the smell when you smoke these sativa dominant strains, but fact that this strain will make you as high as a kite more than compensates the questionable odour.
